Help with Connect, Chat, and Your Library.

Most setup issues come down to Wi-Fi, Local Network permission, or an old connection password. Start with the setup guide, then contact support if you are still stuck.

How do I connect a Mac app?

Open Connect in AxisMCP, copy the current address, reveal the connection password when needed, and paste the matching HTTP config into your MCP client.

Why can't my Mac find the server?

Check that both devices are on the same Wi-Fi and that Local Network permission is allowed for AxisMCP. If discovery fails, use the explicit address shown in Connect.

Can I use Tailscale or a VPN?

Yes, but Bonjour discovery may not cross the VPN. Use the VPN or Tailscale address from Connect when available, and point the client at port 5648.

Why is Chat not responding?

Chat uses Apple Intelligence through Foundation Models. Supported hardware, language, region, and Apple Intelligence Settings all affect availability.

What happens when I rotate the password?

Existing clients disconnect. Update AXISMCP_TOKEN or the Bearer token in each trusted client before reconnecting.

What to Include in a Support Email

  • Device model and system version.
  • The MCP client you are connecting, such as Cursor, Claude Code, VS Code, or Codex.
  • Whether the device and Mac are on the same Wi-Fi, hotspot, VPN, or Tailscale network.
  • The error shown by the Mac client. Do not send your connection password.
